The Miller's and Eggleston Hotel site is located at the intersection of East Leigh Street and North 2nd Street in the Jackson Ward district of Richmond, Virginia. Originally constructed in 1904 by William "Buck" Miller and known as Miller's Hotel, it was one of only three hotels in Richmond which catered to the black community. Neverett Eggleston purchased the property in 1943 and renamed it Eggleston's Hotel. Louis Armstrong, Count Basie and Redd Foxx were some of the entertainers who visited the hotel. In recent years the hotel was closed and the building sat vacant for ten years until renovations were planned. On the eve of the restoration, in April 2009, the deteriorated building partially collapsed. The remaining structure was then demolished and replaced with a new apartment complex which now sits on the site. A marker now notes the hotel's former location.
