Vincent Van Gogh's home is on Rue Lepic in the Montmartre neighborhood of Paris, France. The noted artist lived here with his brother Theo from 1886 to 1888. Having recently failed in his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, and having no money left to pay his rent, Van Gogh moved to Paris with his brother in an apartment on Rue Laval. In June, 1886, the brothers moved here, to Rue Lepic, to a three room apartment on the third floor. At this time Theo Van Goch worked for the art dealers Goupil and Cie. Vincent found himself exposed to many forms of art during his time here, and there was a noticeable change in his output. His darker , gloomier works now found themselves replaced by more colorful ones, as he explored the various offerings of Impressionism, Pointillism and Cloisonnism. During his time in Paris Van Gogh produced more than two hundred paintings, including his "Self Portrait" yet felt he still did not learn anything from his time here. His works, however, contradict this. In February 1888 he moved to Arles.
