The Carter Brothers home is on Royal Street in the French Quarter of New Orleans, Louisiana. It was here that the infamous vampires, John and Wayne Carter, reportedly lived. Legend states their deeds were finally discovered in 1932 when a young girl found her way into the Fench Quarter police station. She reported that she had been lured into an apartment on Royal Street, tied to a chair, had her wrists cut, and was bled repeatedly into a cup over the course of the next several days. She had managed to escape when the brothers left for the day, leaving her unattended. The officers rushed to the apartment and found four others tied to chairs and a pile of over a dozen corpes, drained of blood, piled in the rooms. When the Carters eventually returned to their apartment, they were confronted by the police yet forcibly managed to escape. They were soon caught and tried and eventually hung for their crimes. It is said that when a family member died a short time later and was buried in the family plot no signs of the brothers remained in the crypt they were recently interred in. Reported sightings of the Carters continued for years.
