The Colonel Thomas Lloyd Halsey House is located on Prospect Street in Providence, Rhode Island. The mansion was built in 1801 for the shipping merchant and his family. Today the home has been divided into apartments. The house was featured in H.P. Lovecraft's short story "The Case of Charles Dexter Ward" as the home of the title character. Although written in 1927 the story was first published in Weird Tales magazine in 1941, four years after Lovecraft's death.
